After playing two nights in a row at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center, Tony Bennett gives it a big thumbs up.
"If I may, I'd like to come back in about 18 months from now and sing these songs again," he said to loud applause at Monday's gala benefit concert, the first public event in the new arts center.
Bennett said it was an honor and an unforgettable experience to be the first to play in a hall built in the tradition of "real theaters" rather than the "filing cabinets" that are so often built.
Bennett's first performance was Sunday, a private affair for employees of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, a major backer of the center.
