Much
has been said about the planned intimacy of the 2100-seat
main theatre of the new (Fox Cities) Performing Arts Center.
Its true, and perhaps even more so with (Tony) Bennett,
who played to every one in the house and made it seem as though
you were in a very large living room and he was playing just
for you. It was especially true when he asked for the microphones
to be turned off and he sang Fly me to the Moon.
. . Bennett said it was an honor and an unforgettable experience
to be the first to play in a hall built in the tradition of
real theatres rather than the filing cabinets
that are so often built.
