Hall 5, International Convention Centre, Birmingham, UK

Hall 5 is located within International Convention Centre. Artec Consultants Inc provided comprehensive consulting services for this facility, Britain's largest convention center, which opened in April 1991. The Centre features a total of 11 different halls, with extensive office and support facilities.

Hall 5 is equipped with similar technical systems to Hall 1, but utilizes them in a much smaller, more intimate, space. With its own audio-visual production suite and seating for up to 300, this auditorium is ideal for break-out events for conferences. Alternatively, 125 participants can be seated in a classroom style configuration with individually lit work desks. Hall 5 offers simultaneous interpretation facilities, a large stage with street level access, and appropriate accommodations for sophisticated presentation technology.

The International Convention Centre, now one of the premier major meeting venues in Europe, has created new jobs and provides a welcome boost to employment prospects throughout the Midlands. In addition, the Centre draws tourists to the region, creating more business for city hotels, restaurants, and entertainment facilities.

Artec collaborated on Pre-Design Phase services and lead the work on Symphony Hall (Hall 2) and the Conference Auditorium (Hall 1). Artec provided Design and Planning services covering Auditorium Design, Facility Planning, Specialized Performance Equipment Systems Design and Noise & Vibration Control consulting for the ICC. The architects of the International Convention Centre were Percy Thomas Partnership and Renton Howard Wood Levin.
