In October 2006, Miami opened one of the newest
large performing arts centers in the world. It includes two state-of-the-art
performance venues, an education center, an expansive outdoor plaza,
and a historical landmark 1929 Art Deco tower. Ziff Ballet Opera
House and Knight
Concert Hall are the primary performance spaces, and are housed
in separate buildings in the complex.
Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County
is the Miami home for the Concert
Association of Florida, Florida
Grand Opera, New
World Symphony, Cleveland
Orchestra and Miami
City Ballet, as well as being the premier venue for a wide array
of local, national, and international performances. Visiting ensembles
and shows range from Broadway musicals and classical artists to
World and Urban music, Latin music shows, and popular entertainment
from many cultures.
The Ziff Ballet Opera House seats 2400. This proscenium theater
with its state-of-the-art technical systems is designed to serve
the needs of the most complex of productions, ranging from Broadway
plays and musicals to opera, ballet, and dance. To accommodate the
hall’s many uses, the room is equipped with adjustable acoustic
curtains and banners.

& Vibration Control consulting. Architect for the Adrienne
Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County was
