A new addition to the Utah State University campus, Manon Caine Russell Kathryn Caine Wanlass Performance Hall was part of the development that created a new home for the University's Music Department. Opened in 2006, the facility also features support spaces, dressing rooms, and a lobby/exhibition space, for use by the local community, as well as touring artists.
A 418-seat room, Performance Hall's intimate scale is ideal for small acoustical performances, such as chamber music, vocal and instrumental recitals, and lectures. Fixed acoustical reflectors support acoustical clarity by reflecting early sound energy into the audience and back to the performers Adjustable acoustical features, such as banners, curtains, and reversible acoustical panels, add flexibility to the performance space, which allows it to provide a variety of events. The reversible acoustical panels may be positioned to either reflect or absorb sound energy in the room. The Hall's sound system accommodates modest amplified presentations, as well as speech.
