Earl Goodwin Theatre is the centerpiece of The Fine Arts Complex located on the campus of Wallace Community College, which opened its doors in May of 1990. In addition to Earl Goodwin Theatre, the Fine Arts Complex has six practice rooms, two music classrooms, a rehearsal hall, offices, and various support facilities.
The Theatre provides intimate seating for 350 audience members on two levels. Designed to accommodate college and community performing arts groups, the auditorium is a concert theatre design - appropriate for musical theater and dance, but also possessing appropriate acoustics for small-scale music performances.
The Theatre is equipped with flexible stage elements and features a full stage house with motorized rigging. The room acoustics can be adjusted to accommodate a wide range of performances. Extending the curtains helps eliminate excess of reverberance and properly adjust acoustics of the room to fit speech, drama, or amplified events.
