To emphasize the Republic of Korea's emerging
position on the world cultural scene, the City of Seoul has
decided to build a new world-class performing arts center
which will include a 2100-seat concert hall and 1600-seat
opera house. The facility will be located on Nodul island
in the middle of the picturesque Han River.
As a first step of our Design
and Planning Services, Artec has been commissioned by
the City of Seoul to work with the Korean Institute of Architects
to develop a comprehensive architectural brief for Phase II
of the international architect selection process. We are pleased
and honored to have this opportunity to assist the City of
Seoul in realizing their goal for building a world-class venue.

Artec is providing Pre-Design
Phase services to the Salle Pleyel Corporation in Paris
as they explore the feasibility of creating a new performing
arts venue in China: A Salle Pleyel - Beijing. Artec is providing
consulting services in collaboration with IMG
Arts Projects of London for operations and business planning
and Donnell Consultants Incorporated of Tampa, Florida who
are providing cost management services. The Artec team has
completed a study including a comprehensive market review,
programming, and site review for a new music performance facility
as the first step in the Design and Planning process.

Artec is undertaking comprehensive Design
and Planning services in acoustics, theatre planning, and
specialized performance equipment systems for Rock Productions
in Singapore for a new Lifestyle and Entertainment Hub. This
multi-venue facility coupled with a retail mall will be an
integral part of the One North Live Play
Work Development in Singapore. The master planner for
the project was Zaha Hadid.
Artec has provided a Basic
Design for the large 5500-seat pop music venue as part
of the initial programming and conceptual design services
for the project. We are again pleased to be working on this
initiative with IMG
Arts Projects who are responsible for the operations and
business planning of the facility. Artec is currently working
with the three architectural firms that are developing architectural
concepts for the project and will continue to advise the client
and the selected architect until the completion of the facility.
The three firms are Zaha
Hadid Architects, Foreign
Office Architects, and Design
Partnership Architects.
