The City of Carmel, Indiana, has completed the Center for the Performing Arts. The last of three venues to open its doors was the Tarkington Theater. The Center's artistic director, Michael Feinstein, and Broadway star, David Hyde Pierce, performed at the Tarkington’s August 6th opening gala concert.
The Tarkington Theater is a 500-seat space that is used for drama, musicals, dance, lectures and variety presentations. The Indianapolis Civic Theatre Company will be the primary tenant of the theater.
In addition to the Tarkington Theater, the Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel, Indiana, USA also includes the Palladium, a 1600-seat concert hall that opened to rave reviews in January of 2011, and The Studio Theater which opened in March of the same year.
